Bulldog Ti Frame KitIncludes:- GLWJ Waterjet cut pattern with all holes located and started
- .125" Titanium 6AL-4V Frame
- .20" (approx) CPM154 Stainless Steel Blade
- All Hardware required for assembly
This is our first full blown folder kit with everything you need. Dave at Great Lakes Waterjet did the heavy lifting on the folder design. I threw in a few tweaks on the design for good measure. This kit is not like anything else available. We chose top of the line materials with many of our exclusive parts. This is not a traditional kit where you pop a few screws in and you are done. You are building a full blown, high quality custom folder. The pattern is there with the holes located so you get the lock geometry just right.
The hardware includes our exclusive custom parts:
- 1ea SexBolt 1/4" pivot with 8-32 Button screw.
- 1ea Titanium 3 hole pattern Pocket Clip (#sm243) with 3 screws
- 2 ea Threaded stand offs .215" length with 2ea 4-40x3/8" screws
- 1ea Large Barrel Thumb Stud with flat head screw
- 1ea Stop Pin with Shoulder boss's .215" inner length .30" OAL
Off the Shelf hardware includes:
- 2ea .015" x 1/4"ID x 3/8" Phosphor bronze washers
- 1ea 1/16" 440c hardened detente ball
The blade steel is descaled CPM154 just at .20" thick. You will need to sand it down to .185" thick to get the right thickness for all the parts to work. This give .015" thickness to get the residue gray finish down to metal. If you need (or want) go thinner you sure can, just make sure and leave the thickness around washer pivot area .185" thick.

Q: How do I build this?
Go to Knifedogs.com and look for the Bulldog Frame Lock Build WIP threads.
Q: You mean there isn't any printed directions?
Nope. Not presently. Go to KnifeDogs.com and review the threads there. (note: as we introduce this kit, there are currently no threads on KnifeDogs.com but there will be soon.)
Q: Can I sell these?
Yep. I'd be shocked if these didn't find their way to the custom market in a big way. The Ti frame is intentionally thick to allow customizing.
Q: What if I screw up the blade and need another one?
We figure there will be a casualty or two. We have additional replacement blades available for purchase.
Q: What if I screw up a different part?
We have all the hardware available of course. If you mess up the frame, we will figure out how to help you. Pay attention so you don't though.
TIP: If I build this, am I knife maker?
Yes. Absolutely. This is not a screw together kit. We have made it as easier by cutting the parts out (that isn't knife making, that is part cutting) and putting the right parts in one bag but it is knife making.
What tools will I need?:
- A drill press or method to drill the holes to final size.
- A few drill bits. 1/4", #49 drill for 2-56 tapping holes,#54 for detente ball
- A 2-56 tap for the pocket clip.
- Ginder or files to shape the blade.
- Sandpaper various grits to get the blade to your desired finish.
- TORX(tm) screw drivers
