Mexican Cocobolo

This is Mexican Cocobolo. The picture shows the blocks as they are, waxed and rough cut. Some of these blocks will have lighter sap wood included. Cocobolo is oily enough that can't be stabilized but it is dense and doesn't move much from humidity.

Tip: Cocobola is favorite for duck and goose call makers and pen turners. It is naturally oily and stable making it perfect for these applications. The wood finishes easily, it is tough and durable. Sand it to 400 or 600 and buff with a white buff compound. Wax it up after that.

Caution: Cocobola causes allergic reaction in some people. There are some reports that eventually, every one becomes sensitive to it. There are reports of a lot of things and I'm not sure about every one eventually sensitizing to Cocobolo Reactions vary from sniffles to itching to severe breathing episodes. When you are sanding it, if you haven't had any experience with it, be careful and wear a respirator.

Note: To be honest, the margin on these is too low for us to take a picture of each block and post it for sale one at a time. We just don't have the time for that with these blocks. I have taken a picture of a handful of blocks I grabbed from the box that should represent what you will get.
