Dura Wood Scales (pair)

High pressure laminate wood has layers bonded by resin. The contrasting patterns are from stacking different woods and dyes. This wood is quite a bit tougher and more stable than "regular" wood.

This high contrast Cherry layered wood will give you a high contrast look. Darken it with Walnut stain.

Tip: The picture shows the wood after it was treated with Birchwood Casey "True Oil" (available here) and then polished and buffed with Classic Wax (also available here). You can see the deep shine and how the grain pattern really stands out. Sand this until at least 400 grit. Don't be afraid to give it a good buffing. It will take a nice shine.
