Camel Bone Scales

We imported these direct from India. They are deeply dyed camel bone scales. By deeply dyed, that isn't all the way through. It is dyed past a surface painting. They dye is maybe a couple thousands deep. They look great and are jigged with attention to detail.

Tip: When working with any bone, make sure you keep it cool when flattening the back. Any heat moves and curls this material. Getting it flat when you have it hot (or even warm) will leave you with a piece that is curled when it cools off. Don't dunk in water either. I use a large piece of aluminum as a heat sink. I work one piece until it starts to warm up, lay it on the aluminum to cool and work the other piece.
