This blade blank comes all profiled for you. The bolster and scale holes are located and started. You can use the provided holes are locate your own. Sorry, we do not have pre-fab bolster fittings at this time. Tip: This style knife has a guard that slides on from the front and snugs up against the notches. The size of hole you need is 3/16" x 1.10". Draw the hole size on your stainless material, drill out most of it and use a hand file or rotary tool to remove the left over web. Keep your hole square. Take your time. Expect to spend at least an hour getting a nice clean fit. Try fit often. When you slide it on the front of the blade, you may have slightly reshape the re-curve to get the guard over that part of the blade. The design is a little generous here so you shouldn't lose the look if you have to do that. When you have the guard fitted well, you will need to pin it by drilling into the guard while it is in place. Use 3/32" or even 1/16". It does NOT have to go all the way through. It just has to go through one side of the guard and into the blade. Hammer it home. Do this to both sides. I have made plenty of these type guards and it isn't at all unusual to have to hammer them tight onto the knife tang if the hole got a little over sized. NOTE: The picture shows 440c, this blank is 1095 steel.
