Dark Brown Canvas Sheet

Most brown canvas is actually called natural in the trade. In the knife making business we call it brown. At one time there were several kinds of brown but they have all consolidated down to one natural (or brown) which is lighter in color. This dark brown has a slightly darker, coarser fabric and significantly darker resin. In the picture you can see the "regular" brown on top of this dark brown. We found one full panel last year and have been holding on to it. We are now letting it go. When this is gone, there is no more.

Canvas Phenolic has canvas fabric embedded into the phenolic resin. This makes for a very attractive pattern when shaped. It also provides excellent grip when left raw from grinding. It can also be polished to a very high shine and smooth finish.

Micarta(tm) is a Trademark of Norplex-Micarta. The term Micarta is often incorrectly used as a common reference to what should be referred to as phenolic laminate. Micarta is a specific product from Norplex-Micarta.
