•  These flat bushings are used on both sides of the idler and contact wheels.
  
• These are narrow rim bushings that push against the bearings where typical larger washers would be too large and push against the wheel.
  

You want the side to side motion of the wheel restricted of course but most larger washers end up being too large. When lining up your wheels, you can use these also as spacers.
