Buffalo Bone Scales Polished

These are scales made from Buffalo bone. They are rounded and polished on the top and flat on the bottom. They will take dye and can be carved easily. Expect to find small imperfections here and there as it is a natural material. The sizes will vary slightly.
I found a factory in India that makes knife handle material from Buffalo products. I worked with them for 3 months and direct imported a shipment of various bone and horn product for knife handle material. I think if you look around, I believe you will find these scales of bone and horn are priced well below most any one else for this size and quality.
Tip: I use leather dye to color bone and then seal the bone with a tung oil based product. The dye will penetrate slightly into the surface. For a deep dye, you will need to boil the bone in dyed water and let them cool while clamped in between flat surfaces to keep warping to a minimum.
