Antique silver finish. Plated in something that looks like silver. Who knows what it is but it is pewter with a nickel silver finish. The hole is horizontal and measures .140". For reference, paracord is slightly thicker than this and will not go through the hole unless all or most of the inside strands are removed. Use a smaller piece of cord that will go through the hole and lash it to larger lanyard. Of course, you can always use this for jewelry...
